
Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel will be meeting with Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili in Berlin tomorrow, on September 27. Information about the planned meeting was published in Chancellor Merkel’s official agenda.
The administration of the Government of Georgia noted that Prime Minister Kvirikashvili will be the first high-ranking foreign official whom Merkel will meet with since her win in the German elections last Sunday.
The government administration added that the two sides will talk about further development of relations between the two countries.
Merkel’s Christian Democratic Union (CDU) gained 33.2% of the votes in the elections, gaining 246 seats in the German Bundestag (parliament). This is the lowest number of seats that the party has held in the parliament since 1949.
