The email accounts of a large number of Georgian Members of Parliament were the subject of a cyber-attack.
The MPs received emails with viruses which then attacked their systems, European Georgian MP Sergo Ratiani said. Parliament’s IT department worked to counter the attack.
MP Ratiani says they have been informed today that the issue was corrected.
Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Shalva Khutsishvili says the ministry is aware of what happened.
"We have not received any official information regarding the problem from parliament, but based on public information, our representatives contacted the relevant office in parliament and now we are trying to elucidate the issue,” Khutsishvili told journalists today.
